Description

Wild Factor was founded in 2012 by programmer Alexandre Lautié. Alexander has worked on nine commercial games over the years from retro pixel to next gen console games, including his time at Ubisoft where he helped create the development tools for Just Dance and Just Dance 2014. The story he tells about Wild Factor's inception is he was eating alphabet soup and saw this message in his bowl: strt a gma cmpiny. "Close enough", he said, and Wild Factor was born.

History

Duck & Roll

The studio's first release was Duck Roll, an iOS rhythm game about a rambunctious duck who wants to rock instead of playing boring classical music. Duck & Roll reached #1 on the iTunes charts in France, Italy and Spain and has been downloaded over 360,000 times since. Critics liked it, iTunes reviewers liked it, and that guy we met on the train that one time even liked it!

Freaking Meatbags

After ducks, the next natural step in Wild Factor's evolution was to make a game about robots in space. Freaking Meatbags was born! Three new humans joined the team to help make the game a reality: the monumentally adequate  illustrator/pixel artist Robert Lopattlo, the supremely sufficient level designer Kevin Buchet and the basically competent writer John Bardinelli. Set for PC/Mac release in Spring 2014, Freaking Meatbags is a humorous real-time strategy game that stars Chip, a robot who was 0.03 seconds late for work and is sent to a crumbling star system to pick up rocks as punishment. He meets a group of humans and manages to convince them to help gather materials so everyone can survive the nightly wild robot attacks. They're not all that bright, however, so Chip has to make a few "modifications" to ensure things go smoothly. With Freaking Meatbags marching closer to completion, the team has already put together some ideas for the next big project. No spoilers, but we'll say it's a game about following the rules. There's nothing more entertaining or hilarious than following the rules, right?
